PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES


SAP and the SAP customers are faced with an increasingly complex global environment in which to operate their businesses. This is especially true in the rapidly progressing area of Cloud compliance. The Regulatory Affairs department at SAP Legal is responsible for providing a coherent, consistent, and reliable approach to Cloud compliance at SAP. Within Regulatory Affairs, the Integrated Regulatory Office (IRO) is a team with the mandate to build a network across SAP and drive a cross-functional, multi-jurisdictional process for regulatory compliance affecting products, services, or internal operations at SAP.


This role is primarily focusing on scaling regulatory compliance processes, evangelizing and promoting IRO’s work and support select project management activities. A successful candidate will also need to be able to understand our approach to regulatory compliance at a granular level, communicate that understanding to other stakeholders and drive regulatory compliance projects.


This role will work closely with colleagues in Legal, Security, Data Protection & Export Control, Government Relations, and other compliance and technical functions including Product Development, Cloud Operations, and Operating Lines of Business to achieve the desired outcomes and the required changes in a collaborative fashion.


The primary responsibilities of the IRO Project Manager and Operations Lead are:


OPERATIONS

  • Executing on the plan for an improved regulatory compliance process framework
  • Managing and coordinating collaboration with internal stakeholders and partners developing and refining the framework
  • Structuring and leading communications about the team’s mission, processes, and resources
  • Organizing, structuring, and managing relevant meetings, resources and trainings and documentation


PROJECT MANAGEMENT

  • Assist in the coordination, planning and management of project execution activities, including:
    • Tracking project progress along its objectives (deliverables, schedule, budget), and
    • help ensuring proper use of tools and procedures by project team members.
  • Capture and communicate project status, supporting metrics, risks, and needed actions. Assist in understanding project performance, in order to maintain accurate information for reporting.

You will collaborate and support other teams who are working together to deliver on SAP’s Cloud compliance needs and those related to our SAP customers. You are a change agent for SAP Cloud compliance with the opportunity to influence the shape of your own work and simplify the path to compliance for our SAP teams and hopefully have some fun along the way.


EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

Team Operations

  • Co-develop, document, and maintain IRO regulatory processes in SharePoint
  • Collaborating and coordinating with experts to refine and improve resources, trainings and explanatory material
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to collect and maintain regulatory data in compliance tools
  • Organizing meetings of the IRO, its extended network, and its stakeholders
  • Manage and organize process and team documentation


Communications

  • Champion IRO’s mission within internal stakeholders, including creating materials and leading trainings for internal stakeholders on regulatory compliance processes and resources
  • Managing communication with IRO stakeholders
  • Help with communicating externally about SAP’s regulatory compliance


Project Work

  • Work on selected compliance projects in a consultative and/or project management capacity.
  • Provide coaching and upskilling to individuals and teams who are driving regulatory compliance topics.
  • Work collaboratively with IRO team on a scalable model for compliance projects.
  • Develop a strong expertise in regulatory compliance and program management


REQUIRED SKILLS

  • The ability to understand, break down and organize complicated regulatory concepts
  • Content-driven, with the ability and willingness to develop expertise in a complex subject
  • A focus on collaboration and networking, with the able to connect and integrate people with all types of different skills, backgrounds
  • A talent for communicating effectively with audiences from different areas of expertise
  • Basic project management knowledge with eagerness to expand skills and drive more complex programs in the future
  • Intermediate/ advanced skills with Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint and/ or Signavio


WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Min. 3 years’ experience communicating with internal audiences, especially across diverse team types
  • Proven experience in initiating, engaging with, and managing cross-board area initiatives involving senior stakeholders
  • Advanced experience with project management and executive communication is a plus


EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • A degree in law, business, communications, or another relevant field
